HOW WILL MY PLANS ARRIVE? Download or paper . . . .

Our goal is to help you build you boat, and keeping our plans affordable is important to us. Offering the option of digital downloads for you to have printed locally has become the best way to do this. It will also gives us much greater flexibility in what and how we offer our plans, so you will be able choose the plan portions you need for some designs, as we've done for the Compass Harbor pram. We'll also be able to offer useful info on techniques, skills, and materials in book and plan form that will help you build your boat and also work on other woodworking and related projects.

We ship plans all over the world, and a digital file travels more easily (and less expensively!) than a roll of paper. However, we will continue to offer paper plans since we know that some of you will need or prefer them. Once our existing inventory is gone, we will be printing to order, so if you need paper plans, please allow extra time for printing as well as shipping.

Paper plans are available if you would like them. Plans ship directly from the folks who produce them for us on their large-format machine. We group orders, and will let you know when your plans ship. Paper plans ship rolled (except the single page SS 12.5 keel plan sheet, which we fold) via U.S. priority mail, UPS or FedEX, whichever shipping method the printer finds best for your location.

We ship international paper plans via USPS Priority Mail; we’ve found this to be the best way,
plans typically arrive in reasonable time and in good shape.

The following designs are presently available as PAPER PLANS from existing inventory. As mentioned above, we will be changing over to offering all of our plans for download while also continuing to offer paper plans, printed when requested. We have a limited number of paper plans on hand presently, so if you've been thinking about building one of these designs and would like paper plans, now would be an excellent time to order.
